Arvind - my "preferences" are my following through as a mentor for Flume and insuring the project's success. That is my duty as a member of the ASF and the obligation I took on as a member of the IPMC. One measure of that would be to consider what would happen if all the Cloudera people were to suddenly vanish from the project (this could easily happen if Cloudera were purchased by a larger company who had different goals). As it stands today I don't believe the project would survive very long.
