Unfortunately, Java has a special meaning for the term "package".

Personally, I'd use the term "artifact" to describe anything that is released, can be checksummed and for which a detached signature can be created.

I would like to eliminate most of the usages of the word "distribution" in releasemanagement.xml and replace it with the word "package". I find the common usage of the word "distribution" in the Java world (as a surrogate for package or archive file) to be a terribly confusing mess when it comes
to dealing with the nuances of Apache release management issues.

Anybody mind?
