and, stephen, as the director who proposed the incubator project, and is on the incubator pmc, and participated in the board discussions involving it, i tell you categorically that you are mistaken. board resolutions are not perfect by definition; in many cases they require refinement after adoption, and define a minimum scope rather than a maximum one. new code coming in to the asf comes through the incubator. period. that has been stated several times. you are capable of reading the archives for the appropriate comments by myself, roy, and greg, et alia. i don't know whether any of the others had their directors' hats on when they did, but i do right now: unless overruled by the board, i am stating this officially as asf policy. (even though i think it has been abundantly stated before.) the asf bylaws make no mention of 'subprojects'. therefore a resolution mentioning them would be problematic at best, and void at worst. i do not regard this as productive discussion. just about everyone else seems to understand this. in fact, i don't recall anyone else who has put forth an opinion indicating that it didn't understand it. if there are such people, please speak up no so we can resolve this once and for all. if no-one speaks up, stephen, i would appreciate it if you would help us try to solve existing problems, rather than inventing new ones. -- #ken P-)} Ken Coar, Sanagendamgagwedweinini http://Golux.Com/coar/ Author, developer, opinionist http://Apache-Server.Com/ "Millennium hand and shrimp!" --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
