Hello Dims,
I apologize for the delayed response - I've been catching up after vacation.
We (RSA) are in the process of finalizing the licensing terms. Please
remember that nothing is ever final until the lawyers sign off, so interpret
what I say with that in mind.
I'll be posting an updated statement of intent to the OASIS web site
shortly. I'll hopefully be able to make the final license available at that
time as well. I assure you there are NO plans to change our intent to offer
licensing on an RF/RAND basis.
I'm currently waiting on final approval from our legal dept, which I expect
in a few days. Unfortunately, since we're going RF on this license, it
understandably drops down in the priority list behind revenue-generating
work items on their plate.
w.r.t Toolkits - The approach we are taking is that toolkit vendors need to
acquire a license and the toolkit vendor simply needs to notify users of the
toolkit that they need to contact RSA to obtain a license. The notification
can take the form of a message displayed when downloading the toolkit or
perhaps text in a readme file.
I hope this helps explain the situation. If you believe that our position
will inhibit the decision to move forward, please let me know and we can
have some further discussions.
Stay tuned and feel free to post my response to the incubator-general list.
