Especially since the current website is unused. TBH, I'm only using the
Arabeyes website for the mailing lists (looking up the URL for
subscribing or for an archived message; btw, the archive isn't updated),
and browsing the subversion repository. AFAICT, both those are
independent from the current website.

I think we should get an Arabic website as soon as possible, and add
more content (in English, and maybe in French) gradually. The goal being
to attract new contributors with a website that doesn't look like the
project is abandoned, and try to recruit contributors to help in every
aspect (not only translations, but also web design, etc.)
I've installed drupal 7.10 on my machine and it seems the "core" modules
would be enough for starting. I have yet to try an Arabic or
multilingual install, but I'm optimistic.
Here is a plan:
* do a test install somewhere (most likely on Djihed's server),
taking note of all the needed steps (I'll try to do this);
* install on Arabeyes server (under some vhost), and add some
content (I'd like to organize an IRC meeting for working on this);
* at some point launch the new website (I'd like this to be on
Saturday for the meeting);
* eventually, when all content has been moved to either the new site
or the wiki, shut down the old site.
What do you think of this plan? Is there something particular on
Arabeyes server to take into account before doing this?
All in all, I'd like the new Arabeyes to be a simplified one in every
aspect (for example, I'd like to remove unused mailing lists, keeping
only general, doc, developer and admin), and to start again with new
blood.

Abderrahim
