Hi Varun,

You might want to check out http://learning.gem5.org/book/part2/. This
walks you through how to create new objects in gem5 and culminates in a
simple cache model (that you may be able to build off of). Additionally,
you can check out the code in the gem5 source that was just committed (see
src/learning_gem5/part2).
