Dear all, After rigorous testing, we've decided the v22.1 staging branch is of a good enough state to be merged into the stable branch (The staging branch can be obtained with `git clone -b release-staging-v22-1 https://gem5.googlesource.com/public/gem5`).
The only outstanding task is to update the RELEASE_NOTES.md. I've written a first draft here: https://gem5-review.googlesource.com/c/public/gem5/+/66391. I went through the `git log` and noted features/fixes/etc. which I thought were noteworthy. I'd appreciate it if those with an interest could go through this draft and ensure it highlights the key contributions of this release and that they explained to the developers satisfaction. I hope I've done so in this first draft, but there's still time to improve. I'd like to get this incorporated into the release-staging branch by Friday so I can release v22.1 before the new year.
