My former employer did a little pcb as a christmas gift for well known
customers. It is dual use:
1) Replace the coin you have to deposit in shopping trolleys.
2) A reasonably fast amplified photo sensor.
The combined cost of OP27 plus BP34 is way above your budget though ;-)
