that is my case, i ask for a meaningfull way of doing that i could upgrade the 6.3 branch to 6.4, 6.5 and then try to merge back into a branch based on releases/gcc-7.1.0 or try to directly merge the 6.3 with a releases/gcc-7.1 tag based branch, what would be easier?
