New developers need to find a codebase that is easier to hack than the one we found (http://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/ImprovementProjects). Documentation is a big part of that. As it was argued earlier, finding such volunteers is very hard. The job is not easy and it is generally thankless. Diego.
