I would very much like to mentor a student during Summer of Code even if
I am not yet a gcc MAINTAINER.
As I am active part of GRAPHITE development since over two years - last
year during the Summer of Code 2008 and this year 3 month from AMD
Austin even full time - I am sure I am experienced enough to guide a
student working on graphite development.
I already posted two project proposal I am interested in to the GCC
Summer of Code ideas wiki [1]. Both are about automatic parallelization
in GCC, which is a research area I already worked on during my time in
the LooPo project [2], even before I started to get active in gcc.
As I will keep working on graphite and LooPo this summer, I will be up
to date in graphite and automatic parallelization and in touch with
people who will support me.
I think I can help new students based on my experience as a student last
year and for myself it will be a great experience to support a new
student to get started in gcc development.
