On most targets it is just a matter of finding the right definition of IRA_COVER_CLASSES macro and testing it. tm.texi describes it briefly; if you need help with the right definition, please get in touch with Vlad Makarov. Given that vax has enum reg_class { NO_REGS, ALL_REGS, LIM_REG_CLASSES }; #define GENERAL_REGS ALL_REGS I guess #define IRA_COVER_CLASSES \ { \ GENERAL_REGS, LIM_REG_CLASSES \ } in vax.h will do it, but you need to test that. pdp11 might be harder.
