Unfortunately, my ISP has apparently picked today to make DNS not work. So, I'm having a hard time getting around the internet. For example, I haven't been able to access gcc.gnu.org most of the day today, which has made it hard to review current 4.2.0 status, etc. Therefore, I'm going to postpone GCC 4.2.0 RC1 until tomorrow.
However, when I last looked at the bug lists, my impression was that there were relatively few P1 bugs that were regressions from 4.1.x. As these are most critical bugs to fix, please take a look at any that you might possibly be able to address, and fix them! Of course, fixes for all other regressions are welcome as well. As for the promised tips-of-hat, the following people contributed patches to the 4.2 branch since March 5th, if I've correctly read the ChangeLog: * John David Anglin * Tobias Burnus * Paolo Carlini * Francis-Xavier Coudert * David Daney * Jerry DeLisle * David Edelsohn * Steve Ellcey * Ben Elliston * Daniel Franke * Kaveh Ghazi * Richard Guenther * Richard Henderson * Geoffrey Keating * Thomas Koenig * Simon Martin * Andrew MacLeod * Mark Mitchell * Brooks Moses * Joseph Myers * Alexandre Oliva * Andrew Pinski * Mark Shinwell * Volker Reichelt * Manual Lopez-Ibanez * Roger Sayle * Anatoly Sokolov * David Taylor * Paul Thomas There are, however, a rather large number of code-generation problems remaining in GCC 4.2. Folks not on the above list: please dive in and find some PRs to fix; you know who you are! Thanks, -- Mark Mitchell CodeSourcery [EMAIL PROTECTED] (650) 331-3385 x713
