I've seen this too.  We still need to develop on RHEL 3 systems,
as do a number of others, and it would be great if a workaround for
the 3.2.x bug could be found.  Otherwise past experience says that
a lot of people won't read the release notes and will run into this.

If I have time, I'll try to isolate which file (better, which function) is
being miscompiled.
