Hi there

is anyone working on a DLX backend for gcc-3.x?

I recall of a DLX backend for dlx-2.7.2.x, but this backend cannot be properly
integrated in a recent gcc (3.0 and above).

A "clean" DLX backend would be a very good start point for developing backends
for different RISC-based machines (first slightly different, and then with
added experience more significant features could be differentiated).

Several people suggest different backends for a "jump start". A natural choice
to some would be MIPS and for others the AVR or MMIX ports. Regarding the MIPS
port, it supports the whole family and it is more difficult to grasp certain
concepts.

Thanks
