IMHO backporting any fortran patches to 4.0 is a waste of time. There are so many known bugs in the gfortran that was in gcc 4.0 that nobody should use it anyway. Fixing these two test cases might give folks a false sense of confidence in gfortran 4.0 ;-) Gr. Steven
