I've been assuming that Google was going to put that information up at
    http://code.google.com/soc/gcc/about.html
However, I see that they apparently have not done that yet.

Google approved six applications for gcc for Summer of Code 2006.
They are:

Code parallelization using polyhdral model Plesco Alexandru
Escape analysis Paul Biggar
Garbage collection tuning Laurynas Biveinis
java.lang.management in Classpath Andrew John Hughes
Lock free C++ containers Phillip Jordan
Wcoercion option Manuel López-Ibáñez

Many thanks to all the students who submitted projects. In particular
Sanel Zukan, Glauber de Oliveira Costa, Mateusz Rukowicz, and Peng
Yuan submitted excellent applications which unfortunately did not make
the cut.

Thanks also to the people who volunteered to look over all the
applications and rate them.

Good luck with your projects!

Ian
