Hi,
I have successfully installed gcc-3.4.5 on DS10 Alpha server.
- Output from config.guess: alphaev6-dec-osf4.0g
- Output of gcc -v:
Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc/alphaev6-dec-osf4.0g/3.4.5/specs
Configured with: /home/yok001/temp/packages/gcc-3.4.5/configure
Thread model: posix
gcc version 3.4.5
- Languages: Java, C/C++ and Fortran
- Had to configure and tune the Kernel as per sys_check recommendation
in regards to 'virtual memory and swap'. This is to fix the virtual
memory exhuastion problem during the build.
Also had to redefine TMPDIR=/home/~me/tmp instead of the default
TMPDIR=/tmp since the root filesystem free size was not enough for
certain parts of the build to be completed and was causing the whole
build to terminate with error '/: filesystem full'
