Ok, you might be right, but I'm curious why you think it's so terrible though.

Is it becasue GCC hardly can be considered a "safe" compiler by the 
standardisation organisations due to the nature of the development process, 
which make the MISRA C rule checking meaningless since GCC anyway won't be 
preferred for high-SIL safety classed critical systems? Or is it that you think 
the MISRA rules are bad commersial humbug from the industry which can be well 
covered by using standard GCC compiler warnings?

I've read that IAR Embedded workbench supports MISRA C, so I just got curious 
if there were anyone looking at it for GCC. Since IAR uses this as a 
sell-argument when comparing to GCC I just thought it was worth to at least 
raise a question.
