If you could work on getting an understanding of the underlying issue, and test Tobias' WIP patch, and/or make it work, that would be very beneficial for your own learning, GSoC preparation, and GCC bug fixing, of course.
Yes, I was reading the code and debugging with GDB to ensure that I understand the fix completely and why it works (or not?) to write some tests cases.
As Tobias wrote, it's expected that OG15 has differeces due to OpenACC 'declare' directive handling.
Oh, I've already compile the project in the mentioned branch, but not in the GCC trunk, thanks!
but I would suggest to keep it simple in the beginning, so suggest, that for now, you focus on the AMD GPU system that you already have.
