It should probably be noted that gentoo, elfutils and CNCF (community
usage) didn't simply change the wording, but also included a
clarification of what the wording change meant to the policy.

For those trying to following the ongoing discusion about this
proposal through inbox.sourceware.org might have noticed it didn't
appear in the archives. That has been fixed [*] and the whole thread

[*] The issue was that the original proposal was sent to
@sourceware.org instead of @gcc.gnu.org which public-inbox
rejected. The config has been updated to accept emails to either
address.
