To get the right time in your local timezone: $ date -d "Fri Oct 11 16:00 UTC 2024" Sourceware relies on cooperation among a broad diversity of core toolchain and developer tool projects, hackers, organizations, ideas, and communication styles. The monthly Sourceware Open Office meetings are one way of coming together as a community and discuss our shared development infrastructure. For other ways to participate see https://sourceware.org/mission.html#organization Discussion topics: The forgejo experiment. We aren't fully ready yet to, but are getting close. Our aim is to launch when Forgejo v9.0 is released on Wednesday 16 October so we start with the latest freshest release: https://forgejo.org/2024-09-preparing-v9/ The setup itself is an experiment and the initial setup will be fairly minimal without email, bugzilla and ci integration. But we do want all those features of course. We don't have an Ansible playbook yet, but would like to have one eventually, so everybody can easily contribute to the configuration and/or run their own forge experiment. We should also discuss what policies we want for the experimental setup. How do we approve new accounts/contributors, which rights do they get, what is the retention policy? For the experiment we also need volunteer maintainers who take what is done on the forge to the real project repository and mailinglist. Lots of open questions and processes to explore.
