It took some fighting with tcl syntax until I arrived at the regex pattern below but it looks like it is possible. "vect_recog_dot_prod_pattern: detected(?:(?!failed).)*succeeded". This seems to work for the failing cases and I'm going to send a patch tomorrow if an x86 testsuite run is unchanged. Regards Robin
