While my daily Solaris/SPARC trunk bootstraps are for the 32-bit-default configuration, I do run 64-bit-defaults ones once a week (both as/ld and gas/ld), but never encountered comparision failures there. No idea what you are doing differently here. In fact, my builds run on the control LDom of the machine hosting cfarm216 and the OS is almost identical, too: latest Solaris 11.4 SRU on cfarm216, latest Solaris 11.4 trunk build in my case, which are just a few weeks apart.
