I'm planning to apply this fix to the 4.6 branch, but probably not 4.4 and 4.5
because it only affects users of TR1 (and noone ever noticed the bug in the TR1
overloads) and -std=c++0x (which is quite incomplet and incorrekt prior to 4.6
anyway)
