Hi Paulette, No. The Blastbay Game Toolkit requires you learn the scripting language, Angelscript, that it uses to extend the toolkit. Its simpler than learning a general purpose programming language like C++ or even a basic type language such as Visual Basic, but the principle here is the same.
With BGT you will have to learn some programming basics like how to create and use variables, understand variable data types, learn how to create and call functions, use classes and objects, etc. Its not like you can just fill out a dialog with settings, save it, and voila have a complete game. You need to learn some programming and the specific functions and helper scripts contained in the BGT toolkit itself. Just for comparison sake I've got a couple of game engines in development myself, one written in C++ and one written in Python, and like BGT you'd still have to learn a fair amount of programming in order to use them. The reason for that is because there is no way to create an automatic wizard to develop a complex idea into a game. Games require hands on modification of the source code to modify things like the artificial intelligence used by the enemy game characters, perhaps modify the behavior of certain items in the game, add some extra functionality to an existing character or item not supported by the engine itself. Therefore its essential that you, the developer, have access to the code in order to make such modifications as needed. Otherwise if someone created a easy wizard type interface everything in the game would be static. At most you could rename items, characters, perhaps move things around, change sounds, etc but it would be the same game as the next developer's with minor differences. Cheers!
