You need to remove the original message when your writing the reply sinse you can't delete text from a mail you've recieved. to delete all the text, just press control A, to select all the text, and then delete to delete everything. Of course, if you want to only delete a bit of the text, you have to curser down through it and physically highlight the bits you want to delete. Alternatively, you could just stop outlook express attaching the original message to your replies. Just uncheck the "Include message in reply" checkbox in the send property sheet of outlook express options (in the tools menue), if you want to do this. Hth. Beware the Grue!
