the directs exe file is the redestributable package.
I usually extract the files and back them up as extracted.
The weird thing I am miffed about is why ms did not have the sfx extract and 
install itself, mediaplayer is a load of sfx file inside an sfx and it 
autoinstalls.
I usually extract the files then delete the extracter because the extracter 
only extracts files.
