Great post Eric, thank you. At first I was tempted to say "Democracy Sucks", but then I got to thinking that possibly it is an unstable equilibrium?
Indeed, many claim that only 20% of the voters control the vote because 40% are dyed in the wool Democrats or Republicans. I.e. a very small part of the community actually control the whole. The "Euro-cracy" was blamed for the Brexit, having much the superiority complex you mention. But then, might it be a better form of community decision making than overwhelming democracy .. voting on everything?
