Are you adding sudo in front of every command? like this: cd $FREESURFER_HOME/bin && sudo curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/freesurfer/freesurfer/dev/scripts/fs_install_mcr -o fs_install_mcr && sudo chmod +x fs_install_mcr
