If this is your own machine, you can prepend “sudo” to the curl and tar commands, i.e.: cd /usr/local/apps/freesurfer sudo curl “http://www….. sudo tar xvf runtime2012b.tar.gz (it will require typing your password) Cheers, Eugenio
