Dear FS team,

we are using Philips Achieva 3T scanner for acquiring our MRI data.

Our T1-weighted MRI protocol as follows:

- 3D T1 TFE coronal

- 0.5x0.5x1.0 voxel resolution

- FOV 240x240 mm

- TR/TE = 9.8/4.6 ms

- Spacing between slices: 0.5 mm

- NSA (=NEX=ACQ) = 1

- Bandwidth = 142 Hz/Px

In our most cases, we failed to good output for constructing cortical surfaces.

Most problems were from including dura mater portions into pial surfaces.

In the FreeSurfer wiki, I found the optimized MRI protocol using "3.0T Siemens 3D T1 MPRAGE" for FreeSurfer.

I would like know what are the recommended parameters for Philips 3T machine to acquire good quality of cortical surfaces.

I am wondering if you could give an idea of a sequence of Philips working well in FreeSurfer.

Thank you very much.

Jeongsik Kim
