Dear Freesurfers, I have used an LME model to describe the evolution of cortical thickness in a patient group during therapy and to compare it, at the end of the therapy, with an HC group. An F-test, using the lme_F function gives no significant difference. Now I would like to understand to which extent this means that the cortical thickness in the two groups is the same. Certainly this cannot be proven, but I believe one could conclude something like this: "with our sample size and observed standard deviation, it there had been a difference say of 0.01 mm between the two groups we would have probably found it at a confidence level of 95%, say with a probability of 80%". I thought the function: lme_realizedPower would help me, but I am now convinced it does not, because it looks to me just a one to one function of the p-value. Is there a function that does so? What is lme_realizedPower useful for?
