yes, this should be doable in matlab. If you erased stuff in the
brainmask it should be set to 1 (not 0), so you can find all those
voxels, clone the value in from the brain.finalsurfs.mgz, then set them
all to 1 in brain.finalsurfs.manedit.mgz
