Try this freeview -f $SUBJECTS_DIR/fsaverage/surf/lh.inflated:overlay=$SUBJECTS_DIR/glm/lh.score.thickness.00.mgh Don't use -v in this case because -v is for a volumes and volume overlays and all your data are surface overlays
