Joe, This error appears when a binary built on CentOS 6 is run on an OS with an older glibc, like CentOS 4/5. Fsl no longer builds on 4/5 so that is why this appeared for you recently. Update to CentOS 6 if you are at the nmr center or use the fsl by doing this
setenv FSL_DIR /usr/pubsw/packages/fsl/4.1.9 the source freesurfer setup.
