Mia, Generally for me its easier to visualize problems in tkmedit (or freeview) by loading the volume with the surfaces overlaid, which makes it easier to see where surfaces failed to follow. For a lobectomy though, freesurfer might have problems. If you want to send me a link (offline) to the local data I can have a look.
