Hi Jeff,

just for the cortex I would run:

tkmedit $subject norm.mgz lh.white -aux-surface rh.white -aux wm.mgz

and check to see if the gray/white and pial surfaces are accurate. Don't 
worry about the cortex labels in the aseg - it's not what we use
