Hi Nick,
I was able to download 4.0.5, and everything runs fine on the
desktop. However over ssh, qdec seems to crash the x server. The
program would begin loading, and it appears for a second then the error:
X connection to localhost:10.0 broken (explicit kill or server
shutdown).
After that I have to restart my laptop to run any X applications.
BTW, the same thing seems to happen on 4.1.
