Hi!

Anyway, I have to install FreeDOS but I see the requirement is for an Intel CPU.  My problem at the moment is finding an Intel mobo that supports Legacy BIOS or Compatibility Support Mode.

So, is the requirement for Intel CPU a hard and fast rule or is it just that this is what it was written for?

Will FreeDOS work on AMD CPUs?

Yes FreeDOS will work on every x86 / i386 / 8086 compatible
PC CPU, which also includes amd64 x86-64 compatible CPU, but
it does *not* include ARM and similar RISC architecture CPU.

We should not explicitly mention Intel, that is misleading.

For example, FreeDOS does *not* run on IA-64 Intel (!)
Itanium processors, which did not have x86 compatibility.
It might run on IA-32 EL emulators on Itanium, though?

Regards, Eric
