Hi!

Greetings.   I have (had) Freedos 1.3 installed on one of my computers.  Dell 745, 3.4GHz Pentium D, 4G ram, 500G SSD.   I downloaded Freedos 1.4 (FD14-FullUSB) and wrote a USB stick with RUFUS 4.7.  I booted fd1.3, switched to  the D:USB drive, and ran setup.bat.    I told it to overwrite the MBR, and selected plain DOS with sources.  After deleting files and copying new files it fails.  So does Full installation with sources.   "Error transferring system files to C:". This is the furthest I have gotten.  Still fighting it....Jeff

If you booted from the Rufus USB stick, is the stick itself C:
and D: is a second stick? Or is the boot disk of Rufus on the
stick A: and C: is your actual SSD? You could use DIR and
FDISK to look at the different drives, maybe the place where
you want to install FreeDOS is not called C: after you booted
from Rufus. Of course it would be called C: after you boot
the installed system later, but that is a different story :-)

Regards, Eric
