Nice to learn that a yt-dlp port for DOS might be possible.
What some do not keep in mind is that one can just get audio only at YouTube, with the program allowing you to simply download a converted edition of that audio. Might make for a good financial investment for me. Paying a developer to port the program.

More consolus than answer, YouTube has demented advertising methods.

Not as if I were learning much watching cleaning videos.

Most videos are also poorly edited, wasting much viewing time. Or
again, maybe it was just the types of videos I was watching?

Youtube-dl, and more recently yt-dlp, package(s) seem to be the de
facto youtube download tools for YouTube.

The older youtube-dl relies upon >=python 2.6, while python-2.4 is
availabe for DOS/MS-DOS.

Think there were (https?) anomalies when using the older youtube-dl
tool.  Yt-dlp uses >=python-3.9 versions.

If somebody really desired to, they could likely port something to DOS.
But I think most watching YouTube videos are likely not even concerned
for DOS.
