In case you're not following the FreeDOS article series on Opensource.com, I wanted to share a summary of this week's articles:
BASIC programming with GW-BASIC https://opensource.com/article/21/6/freedos-gw-basic Using Freemacs https://opensource.com/article/21/6/freemacs BASIC programming with Bywater BASIC https://opensource.com/article/21/6/freedos-bywater-basic Copying files between Linux and FreeDOS https://opensource.com/article/21/6/copy-files-linux-freedos C programming on FreeDOS https://opensource.com/article/21/6/program-c-freedos ** If you boot FreeDOS on a virtual machine on Linux, you'll want to read the "copying files between Linux and FreeDOS" article. I show how to use guestmount to access a FreeDOS partition in a virtual disk image on Linux. Works on VirtualBox, QEMU, and other virtual machines. We only have a few days left in the article series for the month! Here's a preview of next week's articles: Monday - Using Zip and Unzip Tuesday - A brief history of DOS (and FreeDOS) Wednesday - Interview about FreeDOS ** After the article series has run, I'll merge these articles into the wiki. A few folks have also asked me to collect these into a print-on-demand book. I don't know that I'll have time to do that until Fall, but I can at least make an HTML "ebook" and post it in the "books" section on the website. _______________________________________________ Freedos-user mailing list Freedos-user@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-user
