I mentioned at the beginning of June that OpenSource.com is running a
month-long article series about FreeDOS. Every Monday through Friday
in June, check out Opensource.com for a new "how-to" topic about
FreeDOS.

I wanted to share a brief update now that we're at the middle of the month. :-)

So far, we've had articles about how to get started with FreeDOS, how
to navigate files and directories, FreeDOS commands for Linux fans,
how to use environment variables, how to write BAT files, how FreeDOS
boots up, how to modify FDCONFIG.SYS, how to install packages with
FDIMPLES, how to use FreeDOS EDIT, and how to install FreeDOS
"manually."

And there's more to come! Watch for upcoming articles including how to
listen to music on FreeDOS, why FreeDOS has 16 text colors, how to
edit with FreeDOS Edlin or Freemacs, how to program in an open source
BASIC with Microsoft GW-BASIC or Bywater BASIC, how to access your
FreeDOS virtual drive from Linux, and a brief history of DOS and
FreeDOS.

Most of the articles in the series are "how to" articles to help new
users get started with FreeDOS. Feel free to link to these articles if
someone has a question about how to do things in FreeDOS.
