Have you ever heard of EVE (Embedded Vector Editor) from Barry Kauler? https://bkhome.org/archive/goosee/ Barry hasn't supported his gem since at least 2006, when he left the Windows environment to work almost exclusively on his next project - Puppy Linux. I just tried to download a fresh copy now - lot of ghost links encountered, but I know I have a copy on one of my backup drives, if needed. To have this Win32 API working in FreeDOS you would need at least to have HX DOS-Extender on board, I guess? Anyways - just an idea. I'm a bit of a fan of EVE, would be nice to see it getting the sort of attention/use it deserves. HTH
