Hi!
>> UDVD2, 4-30-3013. CD/DVD name is FDCD0001. >>> BAD Controller at I-O address C040h, Chip I.D. 80867010h. >>> CD0; IDE0 Secondary-master, QEMU DVD-ROM, PIO. In the context of this error message, please consider this, from Jack's documentation: > "BAD controller" says a chip is not using "Bus Master" and > "I-O Space" modes, and a BIOS update is needed! It is likely that QEMU returns a dummy controller definition which discourages UDVD2 from loading. It would be nice to extend the QEMU implementation accordingly in that case :-) The place to look is the PCI bus data about UltraDMA controllers: They have to be "Bus Master" and / or "I-O space". Otherwise, UDVD2 and other drivers by Jack will skip them. I expect it to be easy enough for QEMU to both set the flag and live up to the promise by supporting the described access protocols, but am no expert on this. Maybe somebody here could FORWARD this to some QEMU mailing list or forum? Thank you!
