I normally run QEMU under Windows (64-bit, 3.0.0), but my main rig's HDD is failing (S.M.A.R.T. error), so that's out of the question at the moment. I do also have it on my laptop (32-bit, 3.0.0), but even that old HDD is somewhat slowing down. I could maybe try it later, but I somehow doubt Windows builds are having the same quirks as your Mac build (64-bit?). Have you tried VirtualBox instead? > With QEMU version 2.12.0, this works fine... > In the recent QEMU 3.0.0 release, however, the same qemu startup command no > longer results in the CD being loaded in FreeDOS. So QEMU 3.1 is apparently in release candidate, maybe they fixed it?? Dunno .... > My first question is: can anyone else reproduce this? Long story short: we no longer have any newer drivers for this kind of thing. Oddly, though, and I'm not exactly sure why, FreeDOS shipped older drivers (2013) when we do actually have a newer version circa 2015 (UIDE): * http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/dos/cdrom/uide/drivers-2015-03-05.zip It's unsupported, but you could definitely try the newer version, and see if that somehow fixes things for you. Somewhat of a long shot, but that's my naive guess. (To be fair, there are even newer closed source versions, but it's a big hassle: can't be redistributed, etc.) _______________________________________________ Freedos-user mailing list Freedos-user@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-user
