I use Borland C++ 3.1 and NASM on FreeDOS on Pentium MMX 233 with 64MB
RAM, this works quite well. Never had any problems.
I guess, there will be no problems. Maybe old development tools won't
work with a 120GB partition. If this is my box, I would install DOS and
the programs to a 2GB DOS partition, that also will work with 6.22. The
rest drive D:. This makes everything easier in case of reinstall. I do
it this way on my Pentium MMX. Everything stored on D:, system on C:

What compatiblity exactly are you talking about? FreeDOS to hardware,
existing DOS-programs to FreeDOS or both?
Software. The hardware is a P166 that's pretty bog standard.
Software: DOS 6.22 compatiblity is given, though someone can't say
for sure that a program, which has not been tested, will 100% work.
I'm going to be working with development tools & related stuff from
the early 90s. I'm primarily after FreeDOS because of its ability to
grok huge disks. It would be nice to set up a dos box with a 120GB
SSD and have it be able to see the whole thing instead of a pile of
wasted space and a handfull of 2GB partitions. :)
tnx.
