There are several free DOS calculators listed here, including some that are
TSR's: http://reimagery.com/fsfd/calc.htm Many will do far more than the four
basic functions (like trigonometric functions) and some include source code.
I'm not sure about licensing on any of them, and don't remember trying any of
them myself, either. But they are all free to download and use. The one I use
is called HOC (High Order Calculator), a DOS port from a Unix version written
many years ago by Kernighan & Pike. It's not on the page listed above. I
don't remember where I downloaded it from originally (it was a LONG time ago),
and I can't seem to find it using the Internet. In truth, I haven't used HOC
in a long time since I have a fancy hand-held calculator and a virtual
calculator on my cell phone and generally find them a little easier to use than
a command-line calculator. I still have it in my utilities and can call it up
if I want to, though.
