You could also try pin-pointing the problem the good old way - ie. lots 
of printf() outputs at every bigger step, and see after which printf() 
the crash occurs exactly. Then, divide the code further in the crashing 
area if needed.

I am willing to perform reasonably numerous tests on my hardware for 
you, if you provide some debug versions of the software. Maybe someone 
else could test on other hardware too.
